چکیده
Perinatal brain injury is the third leading cause of child mortality globally. Purpose: Evaluation perinatal risk factors for encephalopathy in neonates order to prevent deaths and disabilities Method: This a prospective, case-control study conducted Maternity Hospital “K. Gliozheni” during time period 2012 – 2016. 65 newborns at term ≥37 weeks diagnosed with according Thompson classification >5 within 12 hours birth were compared control group, infants without 1:1 ratio selected casual gender-appropriate. Results: Total antepartum found (70.8%) cases (18.5%) controls (p<0.01). Sentinel events 38.5% 9.2% controls. Acute intrapartum total (38.5%) (9.2%) 43.1% babies had combination Significant independent predictive neonatal resulted: from maternal factors, mother’s age >35 years (p=0.03). Of factors: pregnancy twins (p<0.01), hypertension/preeclampsia non-reactive FHR before delivery MEDICUS No. 6, ISSUE 2/ 2022 103 From breech (p=0.01), emergency cesarean section meconial amniotic fluid (p=0.02), prolonged (p=0.01). Conclusion: Knowledge associated essential developing interventions death disability.

OBJECTIVES To determine whether the pattern of brain injury in term neonatal encephalopathy is associated with distinct prenatal and perinatal factors and to determine whether the pattern of injury is associated with 30-month neurodevelopmental outcome. متن کاملAcute bilirubin encephalopathy in healthy term neonates requiring exchange transfusion
Intruduction: There is a growing concern about an increasing bilirubin-induced neurological dysfunction (BIND) in healthy term neonates with no evidence of hemolytic disease or other risk factors. This study was done to determine the incidence of BIND in otherwise healthy, breast-fed newborn term infants without hemolysis who underwent exchange transfusion. Methods: This study was conducted i...
متن کاملThe challenge of preventing neonatal bilirubin encephalopathy: a new nursing protocol in the well newborn nursery.
Jaundice is common in healthy newborn infants. It is the result of normal adaptive physiological processes and generally peaks in severity between 3 and 5 days after birth and then resolves over the next 7 to 10 days. When bilirubin rises to toxic levels, bilirubin encephalopathy and subsequent kernicterus can occur. Phototherapy is a well-established and safe treatment of neonatal jaundice. A ...
